THE CLAVICORD WAY

Lessons that turn practice into music.

Learning the piano should feel like making music, not doing homework. Our approach keeps students playing, progressing and proud of what they can do.

01

Playing from day one

Every lesson ends with music, not just exercises. Reading and technique are learnt through real pieces.

02

A plan for every student

We assess each student first and set goals that suit their age, pace and the music they love.

03

Performance builds confidence

Regular student recitals give everyone a stage, from their first piece to their grade exam programme.

04

Progress you can see

Parents get regular updates, and students work towards clear milestones and recognised grade exams.

TWO WAYS TO LEARN

In our studio, or from your living room.

The same teachers and the same curriculum, whichever way you choose. You can switch between studio and online lessons whenever you need to.

IN THE STUDIO

Studio lessons

  • Lessons on acoustic and digital pianos
  • Hands-on correction of posture and technique
  • Recitals and group performance sessions
  • Weekday evening and weekend slots

ANYWHERE

Live online lessons

  • Live one-to-one video lessons, not recordings
  • Learn from any city, or while you travel
  • Practice notes and sheet music shared after every lesson
  • Help setting up your camera and keyboard

THE FOUNDERS

Founded by pianists. Taught by them.

Vaishnav Bhandarkar and Akash Mistry founded Clavicord in 2018 and teach at the school themselves. When you learn here, you learn from the people who built it.

QUESTIONS

Good to know.

Anything else? Get in touch — we are happy to help.

What is the right age to start piano?

Children can start from age 5 in our Little Keys programme. There is no upper age limit — many of our students are adults learning for the first time.

Do I need a piano at home?

Regular practice needs an instrument. A 61-key keyboard is fine for beginners. As students progress, we recommend an 88-key digital piano with weighted keys, and we are happy to advise before you buy.

How do online lessons work?

Online lessons are live, one-to-one video classes with the same teachers and curriculum as the studio. You need a keyboard or piano, a phone or laptop, and a stable internet connection. We will help you position the camera so the teacher can see your hands.

Can students take graded exams?

Yes. Students in our Classical Piano & Grades programme prepare for Trinity College London and MTB (Music Teachers' Board) graded exams, with theory and aural training included.

What does the free trial include?

A one-to-one lesson where the teacher gets to know the student, assesses their level and recommends the right programme. There is no obligation to enrol.

What are the fees?

Fees depend on the programme, lesson length and whether lessons are in the studio or online. Message us on WhatsApp or book a trial and we will share the details.
